The town is situated to the east of the Mijas mountain range and boasts a natural landscape made up of lush gardens, towering pine trees and booming residential areas. While it is true that the town itself is not on the coast, it is a short 10 to 15 minute distance away from the popular beaches of Torremolinos as well as in close proximity to Malaga City.

Since Alhaurin de la Torre is near the Mediterranean, its days are mostly sunny. Expect hot sunny winters and mild, snow-less winters. However, snow can sometimes fall in the neighbouring mountains.
