Also in his texts we can read about how they took stones from Luque to build the Mosque of Abderraman III in Cordoba.

The town Luque in Cordoba was conquered by Fernando III el Santo in March 1241. The name of Luque was given to the town to honour three brothers that helped the King on its conquest: Alonso, Anton and Luis Luque. Muslim populations stayed in the town until 1294 because they surrendered accepting the new King. The town was controlled by dona Juana de Ponthieu (wife of Fernando III) and after their son, the town was given to the Venegas family until the XIX century. During that century, the town underwent a modernization with the installation of public lighting and the railroad.
