El Rubio in Seville is positioned between Estepa and Ecija and during the Roman era, there was a road connecting the towns that was also used to monitor traffic. Main information
The origins of El Rubio in Seville are not clear, some Historians believe that its name could came from an ancient Roman settlement, though other Historians believe that it came from an old name of a farmhouse “el Cortijo de El Rubio”.
Fiestas
- Feria de Agosto – During the first weekend of August, the fair takes place. There are lots of different events during these days: sport, cultural and entertainment events.
- Gallape Rock – A rock music festival that is celebrated in September each year.
- First Sunday of March – Romeria Virgen del Rosario is a pilgrimage celebrated. People from the town go to the countryside and spend there a day with family and friends.
