At the eastern edge of La Campina, Herrera in Seville is a farming village surrounded by rolling hills of wheat fields and olive groves. It used to be an important iron mining area.

Herrera in Seville is a town is full of amenities and has a beautiful municipal pool with bar/restaurant. There is also a train station for the new high speed train (AVE) that is nearing completion. The Museum of Ancient Medicine in Herrera, Natural Sciences and Archeology offers a pleasant, instructive and clear visit. This with different levels of information. Within the exhibition of Ancient Medicine, visitors can contemplate how the medicine of our most remote ancestors and utensils used by the Neolithic, Chalcolithic and Bronze Age men were created and used up to the Iberian Period. It continues with the beginnings of current medicine and nursing, represented by some 700 medical-surgical and pharmacological instruments of the Greco-Roman Age.
