La Bobadilla – Jaen

La Bobadilla in Jaen is a small agricultural town with a big heart. Surrounded by olive groves and lying on top of a low hill it belongs to Alcaudete from where it can be seen for miles around, a calm, sprawling white town welcoming from a distance and from within.

Main information

La Bobadilla in Jaen at its peak there were more than 4,000 inhabitants, these days it is nearer 1,000 inhabitants. It’s a friendly town with everything you need for daily living. The larger towns of Martos and Alcaudete are 15 minutes drive away and Jaen city 40km. The larger cities, stunning cities of Cordoba and Granada are less than 1.5 hours by car.

La Bobadilla in Jaen is a great base for a quiet life but not too quiet! The church has its procession the second week of May and the town’s fiesta is celebrated in August.

This is ancient settlement where an Iberian burial site was found, said to date back to VI century, the artefacts found there can be seen in Jaen Provincial Museum. History abounds and a welcome is assured in this hard working, fun loving town.
