This is due to the cave that we can find on the northern side of the town in the Sierra del Camorro, which is a mountain near the village. Inside the cave, historians have determined that it was a Paleolithic site where prehistoric people would have lived. Looking at Romans times; There is also an open possibility of the existence of a roman castle and its forts, which were destroyed by Moors. There is a local museum where we can find all the details of the History of the town.

Today, inside the Cave of Belda we can find one of the largest colonies of bats in Europe. Another place to visit in this town is the Ermita de Nuestra Senora del Carmen, which was built in the XVIII century and the Church of San Marcos el Evangelista. The church consists of three naves, separated by half-point arches, which support half-barrel vaults with arches “fajones” that run through the main nave reaching the elevated choir.

The Genil River and also the Pantano de Iznajar, one of the largest water reservoirs in Andalucia are very close too.
